Mac Spiced Chocolate Quad

Sunday, June 23, 2013

A palette was released by Mac in 2008 titled Cult of Cherry. This was before I was into makeup *cough, at all* so I missed out on the gem that is the Spiced Chocolate Quad. In an effort to be creative and after some research, this is the dupe I came up with for this oh-so-fall inspired quad. (yes I know it is summer, out of season shopping happens to me all too often) ;)

On left: Mac Spiced Chocolate quad. On right: my very own rendition
From top left going clockwise: blanc type, coppering, embark, cranberry (all shadows from Mac)

I can envision blanc type all over the lid, with embark blended into the crease and outer corner with just a touch of cranberry blended into the outer corner. This brings so much dimension to the eye. Another look would be the same as above, except omit cranberry and add coppering to the center of the lid for a gilded night out smokey eye.

Have you come across any to-die-for palettes lately?

Chanel Particuliere - Neutral Nails

Sunday, June 9, 2013

Quick nail post. I have been loving Chanel Particuliere lately. It is a taupe grey color. I love it because it is edgy and makes a statement, while still being professional and neutral for the work week.

Are you loving any new colors? I have my eye on Alpine Snow by OPI (the white nail trend is intriguing)

Urban Decay Naked Basics

Sunday, June 2, 2013

I have been obsessing over the Urban Decay Naked Basics palette recently. It is the perfect compact with everything you might need to create a neutral eye, perfect for travel. I took this recently on a short vacation home and it was the easiest addition to my makeup bag.

Venus is a shimmery inner corner highlight (one of my all time favorites as it stands out as pearlized brightness, but does not look overdone). Foxy and WOS are best used as an all-over-the-lid wash of color. Next, I used Naked 2 in the crease and Faint in the outer corner and smudged into the lower lash line. Blend, blend, blend (I use a Mac 224 brush). Crave is an intense black that when mixed with a little water and used with a gel eyeliner brush gets a fine and precise wing. *all shadows are matte, with the exception of Venus

*Excuse my shiny-ness. I forgot to bring any powder and my face is a touch dewy if you know what I mean ;)

Do you have a favorite compact eye product? I would love to hear your favorite(s)!

xxChris
